Microbiome Analysis to Assess Soil Health

Dr. Poornima Parameswaran, Co-founder & President, Trace Genomics

Tuesday, January 30, 2018
11 am - 12 noon
Baker Science Bldg 180 - Rm 102

Soil microbes are increasingly being recognized for their important role in soil health. Trace Genomics is tackling the challenging problem of profiling the soil microbiome using state-of-the-art genomic technology. A better understanding of the status of their soil microbiome can assist growers with critical planting decisions regarding genetics, rotation, and fertilizer. Learn about new techniques for assessing soil organisms and their potential to improve crop management!

Dr. Poornima Parameswaran, co-founder and president of Trace Genomics, has over 13 years of experience in using genomics to track infectious diseases. In a world where microbes are the most dominant life form, Poornima believes that achieving equilibrium with them will ensure our prosperity.
