Learn about Central Coast Grown and SLO's new community farm!

America is in the midst of a food renaissance – and a renewed interest in where food comes from and how it is prepared. Across the nation, people are gathering to raise food together as a means of learning, recreating, building community and strengthening self-reliance. New community farms are emerging as a result of this process and are often the first place people realize the role they can play in their food system.

Do you know what a food system is? Join us to learn about food systems from global and regional perspectives, and about new initiatives being led by our own Central Coast Grown non-profit that promise to help transform our food culture. A primary vehicle for this will be through the new SLO City Farm, a community education farm situated at the gateway to SLO and managed by CCG for the City of SLO.

A panel discussion will follow presentations by Jenna Smith, Executive Director of Central Coast Grown and Nicola Allegretta, farmer and owner of Mamma's Meatball in San Luis Obispo.
